James Hill

CEO, Southwest Concrete Structures

I was born in Vancouver, Canada and grew up heavily involved in sports, especially soccer, baseball, and hockey. In 1981, I began my career as a Union Ironworker and had the opportunity to work on several HiRISE and bridge projects throughout the Vancouver area.
I moved to Southern California in 1988 and managed a rebar company for several years before starting my own business, Hill Rebar, in 1992. Over time, we grew to nearly 125 ironworkers along with our own fabrication shop, completing major commercial projects including one over twelve million dollars.

In 2001, I combined my rebar operation with concrete construction and formed Southwest Concrete Structures. My goal from the beginning has always been to build a company that delivers quality results and creates strong business relationships built on trust and performance.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy boating, desert trips, skiing, golf, and traveling. I’m also a big fan of great live music and talented vocalists. Above all, I’m committed to family, my close friends, and building lasting relationships both personally and professionally.
