As a superintendent I wish every contractor I had to build with was as professional as SCSI on every level. You and Troy are the ultimate in co-operation, co-ordination, and competence. I was confident that all challenges were met immediately, every resource was brought to bear, and that any situation would be discussed and evaluated thoughoughly. I especially appreciated the way my advise was requested, my opinion considered, and my input included when appropriate. Dear Mr. Hill,
I am writing to express my appreciation for the excellent work that your company performed at the recently completed Parnell Medical Plaza in West Los Angeles. Your company's execution of cast-in-place ceoncrete, reinforcing steel, and shotcrete scopes of work were integral to the success of our project.
Parnell Medical Plaza architecturally features an exposed concrete frame and shearwall system. The architect called for a smooth as-cast finish with no sacking allowed. We realized this finish on architectural concrete is difficult to achieve and requires careful formwork engineering and precise carpentry work. You assured us the end result would be to my satisfaction and to that of the architect and at the end of the day you delivered excellent architectural concrete just as promised.
Arnon demanded an aggressive schedule for this project. With an all cast-in-place structure consisting of three levels of subterranean parking, one level of on-grade parking, and two levels of above grade medical space, plus the roof, Southwest Concrete Structures, Inc.' s scope of work drove the schedule for this project. Moreover, the work was constrained by virtually one-hundred percent building lot coverage on a small site that provided for almost no lay-down area. Your project manager Mr. Rick Liebig and I worked closely to develop a schedule for the concrete scope that satisfied our overall project schedule and was aggressive but achievable. Once we agreed on a schedule, your team was fully committed to it, and consistently hit pour dates that we had set months in advance.
It was a relief that you never hit us with surprise change orders. When we requested extra work, your team was cooperative and the pricing was fair.
No job is ever perfect, but overall I am a very satisfied customer. You addressed this project' s unique challenges with competence and professionalism at a competitive price. Besides that, working with Rick Liebig and Ramon Lugo has been a pleasure. I look forward to working with you again on Arnon' s future projects.
