THE NEW CARVER APARTMENTS - Los Angeles, CA Affectionately referred to as the “Saw Blade”, the foundation structure is almost entirely constructed with cast-in-place concrete. Slab on grade with a single level above grade 12” thick conventionally reinforced suspended deck slab. Project features a large structural stair / stadium seating area. Project also features (2) additonal cast-in-place structural stair elements that feature “skewed” columns and multiple light embeds. Cast-in-place concrete walls - almost none of which follow a typical “90 degree grid line” layout but instead feature curved walls and layout based on a “radial degree system”. Project includes construction over a Methane Barrier system which Southwest Concrete Structures, Inc. has multiple project experience working with.
